As I go about setting my consultation sessions for next years strategic plan; one of the first things I do on my sessions while meeting with my clients is determining what their goals and challenges are. While speaking with my clients, I realized majority of the times my clients are really just looking for accountability. They know what they want to achieve 7 times out of 10 and how to get there, but usually their is no one holding them accountable. Are you having trouble holding yourself and your team accountable to the goals you are setting? Most people believe having a consultant is not necessary, but it does help in revealing new and refreshing viewpoints.
Here are a few suggestions you can use to keep your team and self on track:
1. Make sure you have set clear goals that you and your team are able to accomplish.
2. Have someone who is able to hold you accountable, someone who can call you and get you back on track. 3. Do weekly check-ins to make sure you are on track with your goals. What does week two look like in a 6-month goal? 4.. Calendar deadlines - Start with the end in mind and send yourself weekly reminders that help keep you on track.
